Shopping and luxury brands in Marbella
Shopping may not be top of your list when you think of booking a holiday to Marbella, but if you want it can feature prominently, alongside the climate, natural setting and leisure activities of course.
The evolution of shopping opportunities in Marbella and surroundings has grown impressively both in terms of variety, quality and also quantity over the years. Today, there is a concentration of luxury brands in fashion, jewellery, decoration, cars, cosmetics, gourmet foods and many other fields, including accompanying services in interior design, landscaping, health and beauty treatments.
Marbella is now home to shopping malls, department stores, luxury fashion and furniture outlets, specialist delicatessen shops, top car dealerships, jewellers and of course the charming boutiques and shops of the Old Quarter in the centre of town. There are many shopping experiences to explore, from very chic to authentic and charming, including also fresh produce and antique markets.
From designer to traditional
The local markets and town shops reflect the charm of Andalucía, often with local agricultural produce or handcrafted artefacts and decorative items, while the designer outlets that are above all to be found in the Puerto Banús marina include many of the top luxury names in fashion, accessories, jewellery, furnishing and perfumery.
Here and at the nearby El Corte Inglés department store – one of the largest in Spain – you’ll struggle not to encounter the brand you’re after, from Bulgari, Cartier and Chanel to Hackett, Ralph Lauren and Versace. Fendi, Chopard and of course more everyday brands can be found in prime locations around the city, including at the popular La Cañada shopping centre on the north side of town.
If these online and personal shopping sprees are not enough, Málaga opens up a further world of possibilities at less than an hour’s distance, including many more markets and shops with a distinctly Spanish and Andalusian character.
Marbella and its surroundings offer so much more to discover than sun, sea and sand alone.
